I've been reading and watching a lot of stuff about Cyberbullying, and I thought I'd try to put my own two cents in.
Here's the thing, about any kind of bullying. As a kid, it sucks, because you don't know what you are. So whatever people tell you is whatever you think you must really be... if people call you ugly, you see someone ugly in the mirror, no matter how pretty you are in real life. And the majority of us have a really hard time growing up, so that still happens in adulthood.
I was going to try to do an experiment where everybody who commented on this note wrote a hyperbolically negative note about whoever else comments on this - for example, say Britt and Anna are the only people who read this - Anna would call Britt a Big Breasted Cookie Cutter, and Britt would call Anna a Skinny Little Creamy Minnie... something like that, only meaner and less eloquently.
But, since that obviously would produce bad juju, I've got a better idea. Let's try to leave wall messages for someone new each day, saying something POSITIVE, and TRUE about them. But you HAVE to be truthful. Like, if Shanda can't sing worth crap, and you tell her you love her singing voice, unless you actually do love her voice because you're crazy, you can't say that. Oh, and may I suggest that you send this to people you know LESS, as supposed to people whom you know better?
Please pass this idea on... we need to live by lovin', and at least if we're all getting some love, the pain of a lie is less powerful.
